Lacock is a busy place—partly because some scenes from Harry Potter were shot there. The Abbey was used for several Hogwarts interior scenes in the earlier movies, including the Mirror of Erised scenes, and Professors Snape and Quirrell's classrooms. Its cloisters were also used as some of Hogwart's corridors and the courtyard made an appearance as well. Many folks came just because of the Harry Potter connection. My guess is that most of them didn't realize how important it is in the history of photography. It was difficult to find enough time for the long (10—20 second) exposures without people walking into the image. We made a deal with the two people sitting in front of the abbey to not move.
