SALT PRINTS
Salt Prints are arguable the second oldest form of reproducing an image on paper. Salt Prints are in the class called POP (Print Out Prints). There is another class called DOP (Develop Out Prints). You. don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the difference. Think Cyanotype and Gelatin Silver prints. I have a particular affection for salt prints as POPs. AND I much prefer to use the great exposure unit in the sky to print them out. Fortunately here in Spokane the sun appears many days in a year. I also like the way a salt print is in the paper not just on it. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Talbot used salt prints in the Pencil of Nature.
