Dr. Greg's Historical & Modern Photography
Digital
Digital means that the original capture was digital. That might mean it was a DSLR or an iPhone. In some ways it means that it is not an historic process, yet. Give it a few years and it will be.
Digital is merely the latest form of photography. It's not the only one, although many of my friends have thrown away their chemicals in favor of the ease with which they can manipulate images.
Yet, I am firmly of the opinion that all manners of capture have their own unique look. Just as different printing techniques give different interpretations of the same negative so too does wet plate differ from digital from film from dry plate. Each has its particular realm of discourse, its own world of interpretation. Some of the difference is derived from the technology, some from the way a photographer looks at the image given the limitations and possibilities of a particular form of capture.
While these images are all digital many of the others in this webpage are a combination of digital, film, plates etc. As you might guess all of the images are in some part digital as they could not be here if they were not.
